Porsche Design Studio (1972). All of the Porsche Design Studio’s work is distinguished by clarity and functionality of form, careful selection of materials, and high-quality workmanship that combines traditional craftsmanship with
state-of-the-art technology. Since its foundation in 1972 the studio stands for the distinctive, timeless and unmistakable design signature that characterizes all of the Porsche Design Group’s products. The studio also does work for other companies in the areas of industrial and product design. Today, Porsche Design Studio is among Europe’s most recognized design companies.
Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, grandson of the Porsche founder, always sought the unusual. And successfully. He created the legendary Porsche 911, which quickly became the very embodiment of the sports car and, like many other items designed by Professor F.A. Porsche, a design classic and style icon. In 1972 Professor F.A. Porsche established the
luxury brand Porsche Design and the Porsche Design Studio in Stuttgart. Two years later he moved it to Zell am See in Austria. Professor F.A. Porsche still is honorary chairman of the Porsche Design Studio advisory board.
